As per the notification bearing No. LSGD/PD/24269/2024-EER dated 06.09.2024, published by the Director of Local Self Government Department (Rural) in the 2888th Extraordinary Gazette dated 07.09.2024, the number of seats to be filled through direct election in Kannur Block Panchayat of Kannur District has been fixed at 14.
Accordingly, draft proposals for dividing the said Block Panchayat into 14 constituencies and determining the boundaries of such constituencies were published vide notification No. SDC/199/2025/SDC6 dated 30.05.2025.
Time was granted up to 10.06.2025 for submitting objections and suggestions regarding the said proposals. The objections and suggestions received were duly examined, the complainants were heard in person, and the same were considered and disposed of accordingly.
Therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 10 of the Kerala Panchayat Raj Act, 1994, the Kannur Block Panchayat is hereby divided into 14 constituencies, and the boundaries thereof are determined as shown in the schedule appended to this order.
Accordingly, the final order is hereby issued.
